Symphony Mobile Export to Nepal
From now on Symphony mobile is exporting “Made in Bangladesh” smartphones to Nepal. Apex Group a well-known company in Nepal is taking these smartphones from Symphony. Symphony mobile has started exporting mobile phones to Nepal in October 2021. About 15 thousand handsets of three models were sent directly to the Apex Group as the first lot. Symphony mobile has planned to send about 10,000 phones of different models per month to Nepal through Apex Group.
According to Symphony, Symphony Mobile is the first company in Bangladesh that has exported smartphones with the brand name tagging ‘Made in Bangladesh’. They are referring to it as a new milestone in the country’s export sector.
In the presence of Mr. Mostafa Jabbar, Minister of Government of Bangladesh, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Mr. Mohammad Khalilur Rahman, Secretary, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and Mr. Shyam Sundar Sikder, Chairman, BTRC, Mr. Zakaria Shahid, Managing Director, Symphony Mobile officially declared its exporting journey on 22nd January 2022.
Zakaria Shahid said Symphony Mobile is a brand of Bangladesh. We will export 10 thousand products from Bangladesh to the Nepal market every month. We have the capacity to produce 1 million products per month in our factory. The factory is run by around 15 hundred people and in addition to this more than fifty thousand to one lacs, people are directly or indirectly involved in the production activities. Apart from Nepal, we are also planning to export our mobile phones to Nigeria, Sudan, Vietnam, and Srilanka by 2022.
In his speech, the Hon’ble Minister said, “First of all, I would like to greet the Symphony Mobile Brand of Edison Group on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh.” They are the only brand in Bangladesh who are running such a big factory on their own initiative without any foreign or government help which has come from patriotism only. He said that he would like to see Symphony Mobile in 50 more countries very soon and hoped that the Bangladesh government would extend any kind of help if needed.
In 2018, Symphony Mobile started its journey with about 55,000 square feet factory at Jirabo, Ashulia. Now Symphony Mobile’s factory is built on its own land at Aukpara Dairy Farm in Ashulia on an area of about 2 lakh square feet where about 12 million mobile phones are being produced every year.
In addition to smartphones, Symphony is also making various parts and accessories for mobile phones. According to the Symphony authorities Symphony’s factory is producing 8 lakh chargers, 8 lakh batteries, and 8 lakh earphones per month and they are planning to increase the number in near future. The managing director himself Mr. Zakaria Shahid also announced that Symphony will bring the Made in Bangladesh tablet shortly.
